Habitat for Humanity Canada awarded Dave Hurley, Habitat for Humanity NWT Board Chair and co-founder, the Terry Petkau Legacy Award at the Habitat National Conference and AGM in May, 2024. This award recognized Dave's visionary leadership, commitments to partnership and accomplishments in building more homes for families.
The award is the highest honour for members of the national organization. Congratulations Dave!
Parents and teachers! The Meaning of Home contest is a unique and meaningful way to get your children involved in creative writing and giving back in their community. Kids in grades 4, 5, and 6 can write an entry between 50 and 300 words about what home means to them in English or French. Entries can be submitted online, by mail, or by e-mail during the contest period. Grand prize winners receive a $30,000 grant for their local Habitat and runner-up winners receive $10,000 for their local Habitat, plus all winners receive a tablet for themselves and a pizza party for their class!
The Habitat ReStore is now closed for 2023. We are not accepting donations.
We don't know what the future of the ReStore looks like but we are looking forward to our continued focus on building more affordable housing for NWT families!

Habitat for Humanity NWT is now accepting applications to become the next homeowner. There are two homes available in Yellowknife, NT. The first step is to complete an Eligibility Questionnaire.
